Welcome to PWC! Bob Sweeney to helm Prince William Chamber of Commerce

Bob Sweeney, a fixture of Greater Washington's economic development scene, will now head the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, where he hopes to lead the business community in a part of the region he says is “on the cusp of exploding.”

“I feel like my entire career has prepared me for this role,” said Sweeney, who will shortly relocate to Manassas, with a house closing there in a couple weeks. “I'm over 50 years old, and I'm ready to put all of my career on this.”

Sweeney has served in a variety of private and public sector roles over the years: All in all, that breadth of experience should provide a critical bird's-eye vantage of the cross-sector, multi-institution, regional nature of Greater Washington’s economic workings — not to mention established relationships across that complex web.

For Sweeney, the task is to elevate Prince William, ... Sweeney said a sound business environment and promising development sites make it "the next frontier."
