Prince William County has hired Baltimore Chief Administrative Officer Chris Shorter as its next county executive. Shorter will bring with him more than 18 years of experience in local government operations, to include extensive experience in strategic planning, organizational development and financial management
In remarks after the appointment, Shorter told the board he has worked in many localities and “left those places better than I found them.”
“It is truly an honor and privilege to be able to serve the county in this next chapter,” he said.
“His comprehensive knowledge and insights of local government, along with a proven record of making positive changes in government operations and roles, will be an asset in advancing Prince William County to a successful and exciting future,” Board Chair Ann Wheeler said in a press release.
